The fiber itself works as a scalpel. The diameter is 600 microns which is very flexible. Insert the fiber through a fiber holder so that you can better manipulate the fiber tip like a scalpel. The small tubing portion is malleable.

You will be amazed to see the difference when the fiber tip is processed, or “conditioned” by the Fiber Pot. The conditioned fiber delivers a laser beam from its side, rather than from its tip. Now, it works perfectly as a fiber scalpel. For example, you can complete the claw removal with only a 2.5 – 3.5 W output of laser power. Keeping the power low is the key to minimizing the damage of the surrounding tissue.
