PLDD (Percutaneous Laser Disk Decompression) is a
widely used method to decrease the intrapressure of the
nucleus pulposus in treating a herniated disk.
The PLDD can be applied to small animals, such as
miniature Dachshund, thanks to a specially-developed
PLDD laser fiber (400 microns). Recently, life
expectancy of pets has been prolonged and, therefore,
many pets suffer from herniated disks. PLDD is a
non-invasive, ideal method of surgery not only for the
humans, but for their pets.
